Troy Brooks

Troy is an NYC native and motivational coach who has overcome health challenges and continues to persevere. One of his greatest accomplishments was losing over 67 pounds in 9 months. By making his health and happiness a priority, and seeing the results of those changes, Troy found a balanced lifestyle that he loved. Overcoming his health struggles inspired him to share his knowledge with others and become the best fitness professional possible.

Troy is a passionate and experienced fitness professional who has trained clients one-on-one as well as group fitness classes for Ralph Lauren, Inside Edition, The Wendy Williams Show, LVMH, Hublot and the National Basketball Association, just to name a few. Prior to immersing himself in all things health and wellness, Troy worked in fashion with luxury brands, entertainment, event planning and marketing. Troy lives everyday to the fullest and believes no weekend is complete without some quality family time and a solid brunch.

For his own fitness regimen, Troy enjoys combining strength and conditioning, plyometrics and resistance training; he’s always working to progress and grow. For Troy, it’s not just about the physical component; it’s also about having a healthy state of mind. Training from the “neck up” is his philosophy (you shouldn’t ever feel guilty for taking a rest day!).

He believes making health and wellness a priority in your life combined with a positive outlook can lead you to accomplishing not only your fitness goals, but crush life.

1 First FHIX experience?

Yooooo I remember taking Chelsea's demo at the Penthouse, and it just felt right! I'm in this awesome green room full of savages, pushing, pulling, hinging, smiling and dying together. At the end of the class, I remember lying shirtless in a pool of my own sweat saying, “ok, I want to make this place my home!”

2 Who is your FHITspiration?

My wife, her level of consistency is impeccable. No matter her mood, energy or the weather condition, she’s getting her workout in; I really admire that about her. She’s mastered “training from the neck up;” she’s never held back by her feelings.

5 Favorite guilty pleasure?

A good margarita & French fries.

6 What is it about group fitness?

The ability to step into a room with positive energy and know you have the ability to impact people's lives for the better, you can't put a price on that!

Double espresso and/or a Dough chocolate cacao nib donut. Hey it works!

A marine biologist!

Jason Statham – the dude is a legit beast.

12 Best advice you ever received?

Ignoring your passion is like a slow suicide. Never ignore what your heart pumps for. Mold your career around your lifestyle, not your lifestyle around you career. I listened and here we are, boom!

13 Most challenging exercise movement and why?

The Human Flag, it’s like defying gravity. I recently did one.

14 Food you can’t live without?

Mexican Food, there's no way I'd do life without it.

Taking a risk and pursuing my passion of fitness and wellness.
