Dale’s 5 Year Anniversary!

We’re so thrilled to celebrate 5 years of living FHIT with this fantastic FHITpro, Dale! Dale joined the FHITfam first as a FHIT Desk member before transitioning into the role of FHITpro. From his attention to clients’ needs, to his clever wit, and his infectious energy Dale was an instant FHIXer favorite. He never fails to bring a smile to clients’ faces and help them level up their game with his spot-on coaching and daily dose of motivation. To celebrate this incredible milestone, we’re sharing some of Dale’s Fhitting Room journey.

1. How did you get started on your fitness journey?
I was always athletic growing up – playing sports, climbing trees, and constantly hanging from the monkey bars. My family monitored my active energy and creative brain and decided to channel it by signing me up for dance class. It was a perfect fit and I fell in love with the artistic sport and I went on to choose it as a profession. Early in my dance career, I got the opportunity to learn and perform as an aerialist. I immediately noticed the strength and dedication required to be safe in the air, which catalyzed my fitness journey. 

2. Why were you interested in Fhitting Room?  What do you love most about working at Fhitting Room?
I was introduced to kettlebells in 2016. The attraction and dedication to them were immediate. I took a class at Fhitting Room in 2019 per a friend’s recommendation, and instantly felt the amazing energy and sense of community. I started working at the desk to try and immerse myself in the amazing community and take these kettlebell-focused classes that I loved! It’s safe to say I was all in, accepted with open arms, and have never looked back. 

3. Do you have a favorite Fhitting Room memory? 
I will say so many special classes, milestones celebrated, workshops, FHIT BBQs, FHIXer PR wins, Survival of the FHITTEST days – so, so many! But the one memory that will live with me forever was my demo class to become a FHITpro. I remember feeling unbelievably embraced and met with such openness as my journey progressed from FHIT Desk to FHITpro! The energy was buzzing, the support was through the roof, and I had never felt more at home in one singular moment. I knew in that instant that this was what I was meant to be doing and where I was supposed to be doing it. 

4.  Why would you say Fhitting Room workouts are so effective?
They consolidate what could be hours spent in the gym into an effective and smart 50-minute class. The programs are smartly formatted to get optimal results, whilst creating healthier lifestyles. Incorporating interval training, strength work, equipment (like the kettlebell) that feels extremely accessible to all persons, alongside high-quality coaching, personal 1:1 attention, and a community that lifts you up are just a few of the reasons why Fhitting Room workouts are super effective.  

5. What’s your favorite movement you would find in a Fhitting Room class?
Ohhh this is hard for me to choose just one! My favorite to coach is either a kettlebell swing variation (single arm, two-handed, doubles) or the kettlebell snatch. The confidence switch is next level once people understand the movement and get powerful with a swing or snatch. My favorite to perform is a kettlebell split jerk or double kettlebell renegade row, IYKYK. 

6. Best piece of fitness advice?
Consistency is the key to success. Embrace the process of both the wins and the losses. The losses are the tools to learn and grow, without them you wouldn’t access the wins.
