Staying Consistent and Building Routine through Group FHITness

Fitness • August 28, 2024

Consistency is key when you’re trying to build a new workout routine, and one of the best ways to ensure you stick with your routine is by scheduling it in like you would an appointment. Getting started is the hardest part, but once you show up to class we’ll take it from there!

What’s the Best Way to Stay Consistent?

  • Plan in Advance: Whether you’re a morning person or prefer to work out in the evening, planning is crucial. If you’re taking an AM class, set out your clothes the night before. For evening workouts, bring your workout clothes to work so you can head straight to class.
  • Build Connections: Get to know your fellow FHIXers and FHITpros! Let your FHIT community hold you accountable and motivate you to reach your personal bests!

How Can You Set Goals?
The most effective goals are simple – show up and be as present as possible. Here are some goal-setting tips:

  • Realistic and Attainable: Set goals that match your current fitness level. For example, aim to attend a certain number of classes each week.
  • Presence Over Perfection: Focus on being present and fully engaged in your workouts. Over time, this will lead to better results and a more enjoyable experience.

Advice for Newcomers
Starting a new fitness routine can be daunting, but with the right approach, you can make it an enjoyable and rewarding experience. Here are some tips for newcomers:

  • Prepare for Early Classes: If you’re attending an early morning class, set two alarms on your phone. Arrive at least five minutes before the class starts, whether you’re In Studio or on LIVE!, so you can meet the FHITpro and get set up in your spot.
  • Be Patient: Learning takes time. Be patient with yourself and remember that fitness is a journey. Take rest when needed and focus on the main goal of being present!

Classes We Offer
At Fhitting Room, our classes are split between 4 formats:

  1. Signature FHIT: Our Signature FHIT (Functional High-Intensity Training) promises five elements to deliver the results you want. Each of our classes combines functional movements, high-intensity intervals, strength training, varied exercises, and a total-body focus to promise you a workout that’s a step above the rest.
  2. Just STRENGTH: Through slow and controlled movements, lower rep counts and heavier weight loads, this skill-based class will help you build strength and muscular endurance. Technique and quality are the focus.
  3. FHIXtreme: This advanced class uses the same principles as our Signature FHIT and adds a dose of competition. Nothing is off limits in this heart-pounding, all-out challenge of a class, including prescribed weight loads, skilled strength movements and cardio blasts. Each class ends with scores and weights recorded on our studio whiteboard so clients can benchmark progress over time.
  4. Advanced Kettlebells: This is a skill-based total body strength and conditioning class for those ready to take kettlebell work to the next level. Some experience with kettlebells is necessary (one should feel comfortable with the single arm and two hand deadlift, clean, swing and squat as well as overhead pressing). The goal is to improve technique and overall strength.

Incentives
One of the best incentives for staying consistent with your fitness routine is the community, accountability, and motivation you receive in a group setting. Research shows that people generally work harder and more intently in a group versus doing the same activities alone. At Fhitting Room, we strive to create an environment where you can thrive and achieve your FHITness goals! Book your next class today and start working toward building your routine.
